A note from Wanda:

Welcome
Hey Friend,
This week I found myself doing that thing again—mentally bracing.
Not because anything was happening in real time… but because my body has a memory. A learned reflex. A quiet “just in case.” A subtle tightening that says, “Don’t get too comfortable. Something could change.”
And I realized how often we call that wisdom.
We call it being responsible. Being realistic. Being prepared. But sometimes it isn’t wisdom at all—sometimes it’s old scarcity wearing a sensible outfit.
What’s wild is that you can be doing “better” financially and still live like you’re one step away from losing everything. You can have more money than you’ve ever had and still feel unsafe. Still feel behind. Still feel like you have to grip everything tightly.
So I’ve been sitting with a gentler truth:
Some of our money choices aren’t about the present. They’re about what we inherited.
—————
The Heart
You can honor where you come from without letting it run your future.
Many of us inherited money beliefs the way we inherit family phrases, recipes, and mannerisms—quietly, over time, without being asked.
Beliefs like:
“You can’t trust money.”
“More is never enough.”
“If you relax, you’ll lose it.”
“People with money aren’t like us.”
“We don’t get ahead—we just survive.”
And the thing about inherited beliefs is that they don’t always show up as thoughts. They show up as patterns.
They show up as overworking even when you’re tired.
They show up as undercharging even when you’re gifted.
They show up as spending quickly because holding feels unsafe.
They show up as never enjoying what you’ve built because joy feels irresponsible.
Scarcity isn’t just a lack of money. It’s a lack of safety in your system.
Which means “rewiring” isn’t only about learning new financial information. It’s about allowing your inner world to update.
To realize: I’m not back there anymore.
To realize: I can build without bracing.
To realize: I can plan without panic.
To realize: I can have money and still have peace.
You don’t have to shame the old beliefs. They were often formed to protect you. They were survival strategies in the language of money. But survival strategies aren’t always meant to become lifelong identities.
And maybe this season isn’t asking you to hustle harder. Maybe it’s asking you to loosen your grip—just enough to let new truth take root.
The Invitation
If you’re sitting with something similar, you might hold this question softly:
“What money belief did I inherit—and what would it feel like to live without it?”
No rush. I’ll share the companion episode on Wednesday when it’s live.
One Gentle Link
If you’d like to stay with this a little longer, here’s one gentle place to listen when you’re ready.
The companion episode for this letter will be shared on Wednesday when it’s live.
That’s it for this week.
May you be kind to the version of you that learned to survive.
May you also be brave enough to let survival stop being your only setting.
And this week, may you take one small step toward financial peace—one that proves to your spirit that you’re safe enough to grow.
Keep showing up for you. Keep flowing in freedom! 💜
